Cookie Policy

• Essential. Your signed-in session and the token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Without these you cannot stay signed in and the service does not work, so they cannot be switched off. They are set only when you actually sign in.
• Analytics. Aggregate counts of which pages get used and where errors happen, so we know what to fix. Off unless you turn them on.
• Marketing. Measures whether an advert led somebody here. Off unless you turn them on.

Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser’s local storage so we do not have to ask again on every page.

Press Reject all. It sits on the first banner you see, at the same size and in the same place as Accept all, and it takes exactly one click. There is no second screen, no list of switches to work through, and nothing hidden behind a “manage” link.

You can change your mind at any time on the cookie preferences page, which also has a Reject all button of the same weight as the save button. Refusing costs you nothing: every part of the service works the same either way.

Your browser can also block or delete cookies directly. Blocking the essential ones will stop you from being able to sign in.

Yes. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a standing refusal of analytics and marketing cookies and of any sale or sharing of personal information.

When we detect it, the banner does not appear, the refusal is recorded automatically, and the preference switches are held off. The banner cannot be used to override the signal.

Only where you have opted in, or where the cookie is essential to something you asked for:

• Our payment service provider sets cookies on its own checkout page, which is where card details are entered. Those are essential to processing the payment and to fraud prevention.
• Our authentication provider sets the session cookie when you sign in.
• Our analytics provider sets cookies only after you have turned analytics on.

The effective date at the top changes. If we add a new category of cookie, your existing choice does not carry across to it — it starts off, and you will be asked again.
